Pakistan’s parliament has approved the National Commission for Minorities Rights Act 2025, passing the bill with 160 votes in favor and 79 against. The government dropped two contentious clauses - one concerning Ahmadis and another granting the commission suo motu powers - following opposition from JUI-F and PTI. The legislation establishes a fully autonomous national body tasked with addressing discrimination, safeguarding security and protecting the rights of minority communities. #pakistan #p
