One of the final steps to machining a part is deburring it. The machining process often leaves jagged and sharp edges that can cut seals or even the consumer. It's my least favorite step, but it can be extremely crucial to the operation. Some parts require hours of sanding by hand and others can be tossed in a tumbler and forgotten for a few hours.
