The Ongwediva Town Council has become the first local authority in Namibia to procure emergency tents as part of a disaster risk management initiative aimed at assisting residents during emergencies. The move follows a call by the Office of the Prime Minister urging all government agencies to play an active coordination role in supporting national disaster risk management efforts. The council responded swiftly by purchasing six emergency tents. Three of the tents measure 5 by 10 metres, while th
